Speaker Event: Character in Leadership!
Character Abbotsford hosted 120 people including Leadership Classes from 4 local highschools (Dasmesh Punjabi School, W.J. Mouat, Rick Hansen, and MEI ) to a discussion on “Character in Leadership” featuring Dr. James Mandigo, UFV President and Vice Chancellor. It was an inspiring afternoon that explored topics such as Defining character in the context of leadership, Creating a culture of trust, and Uniting a diverse university community around shared values. Dr. Mandigo presented a compelling picture of the current focus of his leadership team capsulized by the phrase: “Community Impact.” He encouraged student leaders to lead from a position of humility and to always find ways to give back to their communities.
Character Abbotsford is group of passionate leaders that meets five times per year with the goal of inspiring character in citizens, engaging and equipping leaders, and using their influence to positively impact the community.
